When we think about Back to School time, August and September usually come to mind. However, Teach Kentucky is proud to announce a remarkable group of new teachers who will be embarking on their education careers in the middle of the academic year. We extend a warm welcome to Branden McMichael, Kristen Miller, Danielle Moreau, Ryan Cannon, Shaun Whittinghill, Roman Angone, Alec Kleiner, and Mindi Earnshaw, who have recently joined the Teach Kentucky program.
Starting a teaching career in January is no easy task. These new educators are stepping into classrooms where teachers and students have already had several months to establish routines and build relationships. Their dedication and willingness to fill vital roles that would have otherwise remained vacant for the rest of the school year is truly commendable. Teach Kentucky is immensely grateful for their commitment.
While the mid-year start may present its challenges, we have complete faith in the abilities of these talented individuals. It’s important to note that these teachers are not entirely new to the classroom; many have previously served as substitute teachers, teaching assistants, coaches, and mentors. Through the Teach Kentucky program, they now have the opportunity to take on the role of teachers of record for the first time.
But their journey doesn’t stop there. In addition to their teaching responsibilities, these promising educators will also be commencing their Master of Arts in Teaching programs with esteemed institutions such as the University of Louisville, Spalding, and Asbury. This dual commitment to both practical experience and academic growth will undoubtedly enrich their teaching abilities and enhance the educational experience for their students.
While some of our new teachers are from the Louisville area, others are excited to relocate and call our vibrant community home. We invite you to join us in welcoming these dedicated individuals to the Teach Kentucky Community of Educators. Their passion for education and commitment to making a difference in the lives of Louisville students is truly inspiring.
Teach Kentucky is not just a recruitment program; we are a launchpad for education careers. From day one, we provide unwavering support to our teachers. Many of our past participants have gone on to achieve additional certifications, degrees, and accolades, propelling them into roles as team leads, administrators, principals, and more. Career growth and personal development possibilities are limitless with Teach Kentucky’s guidance and support.
As we celebrate the arrival of our mid-year start teachers, we also look to the future. Teach Kentucky remains committed to fostering a community of dedicated educators who will shape the lives of countless students in Louisville. Together, we can transform not only individual futures but also the future of education in our city.
Let’s work together to make a lasting impact on education and empower the next generation of leaders.
