Celebrating Isabel Lake’s Journey: From Teacher to Assistant Principal
At Teach Kentucky, we take immense pride in the growth and success of our educators. Today, we’re thrilled to share another inspiring milestone in the career of one of our own – Isabel Lake.
Over a Decade of Dedication
Isabel Lake has been an integral part of the Teach Kentucky family since joining our 2011 cohort. Her journey in education is a testament to the passion, perseverance, and adaptability that characterize our educators.
Isabel’s career in education has been marked by steady growth and diverse experiences. She began her teaching journey in Henry County from 2011 to 2013, laying the foundation for her future roles. From 2013 to 2016, Isabel transitioned to Fern Creek High School in JCPS, further developing her skills in a new environment. Her expertise and passion for education led her to join the Teach Kentucky staff as a Teacher Support Coordinator from 2016 to 2019, where she guided other teachers as they began their careers. Returning to the classroom, Isabel taught at Doss High School bringing her enriched perspective back to direct student interaction. In 2022, she took on the role of Academic Instructional Coach at Kammerer Middle School, showcasing her leadership abilities.
Most recently, in October 2024, Isabel’s dedication and skills were recognized with a promotion to Assistant Principal at Kammerer Middle School, a position she continues to hold, marking the current pinnacle of her educational career.
Finding Her Place
Isabel’s journey showcases the diverse opportunities available in education. From classroom teaching to administrative roles, she has explored various facets of the education system. Her recent promotion to Assistant Principal at Kammerer Middle School marks a significant milestone in her career.
In Isabel’s own words:
“I am thrilled to be staying at a school where I have built relationships and academic success and move into an Assistant Principal role here and continue to develop students and teachers. My time with Teach Kentucky has helped me to see the value of education in Louisville and built a desire to keep the community engaged in our students’ success.”

At Teach Kentucky, our commitment extends far beyond initial recruitment. We’re dedicated to the long-term success of our educators, supporting them at every stage of their careers. Isabel’s story is just one of many examples of Teach Kentucky alumni who have progressed from teaching roles to administrative positions.
We’ve been there to support Isabel and countless others every step of the way, from their first day in the classroom to their latest promotions. This comprehensive support system is what sets Teach Kentucky apart and contributes to the lasting impact our educators have on their communities.
