Teach Kentucky’s impact is growing as this year marks the first time a student of a Teach Kentucky teacher has gone on to enter the program herself. Launi Brown is a member of the newest Teach Kentucky cohort, and a former Western High School student of Aubrey Holle, a member of Teach Kentucky’s 2012 cohort.
Louisville provides the cultural offerings that rival those of larger metropolitan areas where it is difficult to live comfortably on a teacher’s salary. Our affordable city is a place where educators can build a career and a home.
Louisville is one of those rare cities where there is a ton going on yet is still very affordable. Our teachers love that they can have a comfortable lifestyle on an educator’s salary.
Candidates enjoyed tours of the city parks and schools hosted by current teachers. They also got to hear from several of Teach Kentucky’s stakeholders, supporters and board members, as well as some JCPS and U of L representatives during dinner at Impellizzeri’s Pizza in downtown Louisville.
